1 O LORD, You have searched me,
 and have known me.
2 You know my down-sitting
and my standing.
You discern my motive
 from far away.
3 My path You sift out and
when dow-own I lay,

and You work Your purpose
in my ways all
4 for You sift all my words.
You've known them all.
5 You have restricted me
behind and 'fore,
and placed Your palm on me
to kee-eep me sure.

6 Knowledge too wonderful,
it's beyond me.
I cannot master it,
 It's heavenly.
7 To go from Your Spirit,
there is no place.
And wither could I flee
out of Your face?

8 If I rise to heaven,
Lo, there You are,
Or lay down in Sheol,
 Behold, You're there!
9 If I take up the wings
of the morning
and dwell in the far off
parts of the sea,

10 even there shall Thy hand,
it shall lead me,
and Your mighty right hand
 strongly hold me.
11 And if I say, Surely,
darkness hurts me,
and the light about me
turned to night be,

12 even darkness does not
darken Thy sight.
And the night shines as day,
 the dark as light,
13 for You purchased my reins.
You purpose me
since in my mother's womb,
ama-azingly.

14 I will praise Thee that I'm
made wonderful.
Marvelous are Your works,
 my soul knows well.
15 My bones were not concealed,
not hid from Thee
when I was made hidden,
curiou-usly

wrought in the lower parts
of the earth. Lo!
16 Thine eyes beheld me as
an embryo,
and in Thy book were all,
were all written,
the days they were fashioned,
when there were none.

17 How precious are Thy thoughts,
God, unto me.
How great the sum of them
 e'en about me.
18 If I count them they're more
than sand by sea.
When I awake I am,
still am with Thee.

19 O God that You would slay,
slay the wicked.
And ye depart from me,
ye men of blood,
20 they that do speak of Thee
deceptively.
They lift up vanity,
Thine enemies.

21 Do not I hate them, LORD,
that do hate Thee?
And do not I loathe them
that rise 'gainst Thee?
22 I hate them completely
as enemies.
23 Search me, O God, and know
my heart. Prove me.

And know my worries, Lord,
24 and please do see
if there be any way
painful in me.
And lead me in the way
everlasting.
Lead me on the path of
eternity.

2Samuel 3:27 And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him secretly, and smote him there in the belly, that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.
28 And afterwards David heard it, and he said, I and my kingdom are guiltless before Jehovah for ever from the blood of Abner the son of Ner:
29 let it fall on the head of Joab, and on all his father's house; and let there not fail from the house of Joab one that has an issue, or that is a leper, or that leans on a staff, or that falls by the sword, or that lacks bread!
30 So Joab and Abishai his brother killed Abner, because he had slain their brother Asahel at Gibeon in the battle.
