Psalm 4 To the Overcomer, on stringed instruments. A Psalm through David.
(tune: One Tin Soldier, 8.7.8.7.D  8.7.8.9 9.5.8.7)

1 In my calling, answer Thou me,
O God of my righteousness.
In my trouble, You enlarged me.
Hear my prayer, and be gracious. (1)
2 O ye sons of men, how long shall
turned to shame My glory be?
How long will ye love vanity?
How long will you falsehood seek?

Selah

3  But know that the LORD sets apart
for Himself the godly one.
The LORD hears my calling to Him,
conforming me to be like His Son.
4 Be moved with anger and do not sin.
In your hearts say it
at night upon your beds and be still.
On wrath let not the sun set.(2)

Selah.

5 Offer the sacrifices of
righteousness, and trust the Lord.
6 Many there are that are saying,
Who will cause us to see good?
Lift Thou up upon us the light
of Thy countenance, O Lord.
Lift Thou up upon us the light
of Thy countenance, O Lord.

7 You have put gladness in my heart,
more than in prosperous times
when their grain was in abundance,
as well as plentiful new wine.
8 In peace will I both lay down and sleep,
for Thou Lord alone
causes me to dwell securely,
without care before Your throne.

1. Lit. Be gracious to me and hear my prayer.
2. Ephesians 4:26
