(tune: 7.6.7.6.D #239 Ten Thousand Thanks)

1 1 Watch over me, O God, for
I put my trust in Thee.
2 O God, You've said to the LORD,
You are the Lord of Me.
 My welfare's not Your burden.
3 To saints who are on earth,
all My delight's in these and
those who are of great worth. (1)

4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied
that haste for another.
All their drink offerings of blood,
I dare not to offer.

2 Their names I will not take up
upon my sacred lips.
5 The LORD's my portion and cup
of my inheritance.
My lot You are holding fast.
6     The lines have fall'n to me
in pleasant places, even,
a heritage goodly.

7 I'll bless the LORD who's giv'n to me
counsel. My reins also
in the night seasons instruct me
teaching me how to go.

3 8 I've set the LORD before me
always for He has proved,
because He's at my right hand
 I never shall be moved.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and
my glory shouts, Hooray!
E'en my flesh shall rest in hope,
and shall not see decay.

10 For You will not abandon my
soul in Sheol to be.
Your godly One, You'll not suffer
corruption thus to see.

4 11 You'll make known to me the path
of life before Your face.
With Your presence is fulness
of joy, abounding grace.
In Your right hand are pleasures
forever more and more.
In Your right hand are treasures
that ever shall endure.

1. v3 - lit. To saints who are on earth, these and the excellent, all My delight is in them.

Acts 2:25 For David says regarding Him, "I saw the Lord continually before me, because He is on my right hand, that I may not be shaken.
26  Therefore my heart was made glad and my tongue exulted; moreover, also my flesh will rest in hope,
27  Because You will not abandon my soul to Hades, nor will you permit Your Holy One to see corruption.
28  You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of gladness with Your presence.''
29  Men, brothers, I can say to you plainly concerning the patriarch David that he both deceased and was buried, and his tomb is among us until this day.
30  Therefore, being a prophet and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him to seat One from the fruit of his loins upon his throne,
31  He, seeing this beforehand, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was He abandoned to Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption.
32  This Jesus God has raised up, of which we all are witnesses.
33  Therefore having been exalted to the right hand of God and having received the promise of the Holy Spirit from  the Father, He has poured out this which you both see and hear.
34  For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says, ``The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand
35  Until I set Your enemies as a footstool for Your feet.''

Acts 13:34  And as to His having raised Him up from the dead, no longer to return to corruption, He spoke in this way, "I will give you the holy things of David, the faithful things.''
35  Therefore He also says in another place, "You will not allow Your Holy One to see corruption.''
36  Now David, having served his own generation by the counsel of God, did indeed fall asleep and was buried with his fathers and saw corruption;
37  But He whom God has raised did not see corruption.
38  Therefore let it be known to you, men, brothers, that through this One forgiveness of sins is announced to you;

Isaiah 13:12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold, even man than the gold of Ophir.

Jeremiah 11:20 But thou, Jehovah of hosts, who judgest righteously, who triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I revealed my cause.

Genesis 16:5 And Sarai said to Abram, My wrong be upon thee! I have given my maidservant into thy bosom; and now she sees that she has conceived, I am lightly esteemed in her eyes. Jehovah judge between me and thee!
22:6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt-offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and the knife, and they went both of them together.
26:10 And Abimelech said, What is this thou hast done to us? But a little and one of the people might have lain with thy wife, and thou wouldest have brought a trespass upon us.
27:12 My father perhaps will feel me, and I shall be in his sight as one who mocks him, and I shall bring a curse upon me, and not a blessing.
13 And his mother said to him, Upon me be thy curse, my son! Only hearken to my voice, and go, fetch them.
31:35 And she said to her father, Let not my lord be angry that I cannot rise up before thee; for the manner of women is upon me. And he searched, but found not the teraphim.
38:29 And it came to pass as he drew back his hand, that behold, his brother came out; and she said, How hast thou broken forth! upon thee be the breach! And they called his name Pherez.
42:21 Then they said one to another, We are indeed guilty concerning our brother, whose anguish of soul we saw when he besought us, and we did not hearken; therefore this distress is come upon us.

Matthew 26:29 But I say to you, that I will not at all drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in the kingdom of my Father.
