1 1 How lovely are Your dwellings, Lord,
O Thou, LORD God of hosts.
2 My soul longed, and it also pined
for the courts of Your house.
My heart and my flesh sing out for
     the God who is living.
3        Also the sparrow found a home,
     and free bird is nesting

2 where she may lay her young upon
Your altars LORD of hosts,
My King and God, 4  how bless'd are they
who dwell within Your house.
They will again be praising Thee,
     Selah, with hearts of praise
5         Bless'd is the man whose strength's in Thee.
     In their heart are highways.

3 6  Passing through the weeping valley,
they make it a wellspring.
Also the early rain covers
it with pools of blessings.
7        They go onward from strength to strength.
     'Fore God each will appear
in Zion, 8  O LORD God of hosts,
hear my prayer. Do give ear.

4 O God of Jacob, Hear. Selah.
9  Our Shield now see, O God,
and look upon Your Messiah's
face, Who this way has trod,
10 for a day within Your courts is
     better than a thousand.
I would rather in my God's house
     upon the threshold stand

5 then dwell in tents of wickedness
11 for God is Sun and Shield.
Grace and glory the LORD will give.
No good thing He'll not yield
to those who walk in uprightness.
12 LORD of hosts, bless'd is he
who lives You as his righteousness,
who puts his trust in Thee.
