1 1 He that dwells in the secret place
of the Most High shall abide
under the Almighty's shadow
while the sun burns hot outside.
2 I say to the LORD, "My refuge
and my most secure fortress,
my God, I will confide in Him
while the world is in distress."

2 3 For so He shall deliver thee
from the snare of the fowler
 and from destructive diseases.
4 With His feathers He'll cover.
Under His wings you'll find refuge.
His truth is a shield and stay.
5 You shall not fear terror by night
nor arrow that flies by day,

3 6 nor disease that walks in darkness,
 nor destruction at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at your side,
and ten thousand by thy way.
The thing shall not come nearby thee.
8 Only with your eyes behold,
and the wicked's reward you'll see
as it was in days of old

4 9 Since you set the LORD, my refuge,
the Most High your dwelling place,
10 there shall no evil befall thee,
neither plague come near your place.
11 Since He shall give His angels charge
to keep you where'er you go,
12 they shall bear thee up on their palms
lest your foot fall on a stone.

5 13 You'll tread on lion and viper.
The young lion and the snake
you will trample under your feet
though they try your faith to shake.
14 Because on Me he's set his love,
therefore I'll deliver him.
I will set him on high above
because he has known My name.

6 15 He'll call Me, and I'll answer him.
I'll be with him in trouble.
I'll deliver and honor him.
I will save him to the full.
16 With length of days I'll satisfy,
and I will cause him to see
into My salvation applied
as I lead unto glory.

Daniel 3:17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thy hand, O king.
18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image that thou hast set up. (Dan. 3:17-18 DBY)

Matthew 4:5 Then the devil takes him to the holy city, and sets him upon the edge of the temple,
6 and says to him, If thou be Son of God cast thyself down; for it is written, He shall give charge to his angels concerning thee, and on their hands shall they bear thee, lest in anywise thou strike thy foot against a stone.
7 Jesus said to him, It is again written, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Psalm 17:8 Keep me as the apple, as the daughter,
of the most tender part of the eye.
Hide me under the shadow of Your wings
9       from wicked who oppress such as I.

2Samuel 24:17 And David spoke to Jehovah when he saw the angel that smote among the people, and said, Behold, it is I that have sinned, and it is I that have committed iniquity; but these sheep, what have they done? let thy hand, I pray thee, be on me, and on my father's house!

2 Peter 2:9 the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of trial, and to keep the unjust to the day of judgment to be punished;

;Psalm 124:7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we have escaped.

Jeremiah 5:26 For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as fowlers stoop down; they set a trap, they catch men.
Hosea 9:8 Is Ephraim a watchman with my God? nay the prophet is a fowler's snare on all his ways, enmity in the house of his God.

1Kings 8:37 If there be famine in the land, if there be pestilence, if there be blight, mildew, locust, caterpillar; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their gates; whatever plague, whatever sickness there be:
38 what prayer, what supplication soever be made by any man, of all thy people Israel, when they shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and shall spread forth his hands toward this house;
39 then hear thou in the heavens, the settled place of thy dwelling, and forgive, and do, and render unto every man according to all his ways, whose heart thou knowest (for thou, thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men),
40 that they may fear thee all the days that they live upon the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.
